Political Persecution of AntAC Team Continues

On early morning June, 8 a group of military officers accompanied by unknown men with cameras visited the house of Vitaliy Shabunin, head of AntAC board.

The officers came to pass invitation for Vitaliy to the regional military committee, which is in charge for calling men obliged to serve in the army. Unknown men who didn’t introduce themselves recorded on video the moment of passing the invitation by officers. In a few hours the video was released with a message that Vitaliy Shabunin refuses to serve in the army.

Next day Vitaliy visited the regional military committee, which confirmed that he is not of the age to be served in the army, moreover, he can’t be called to serve because of the medical expert conclusion issued to Vitaliy 17 years ago. There were arranged new provocations against Vitaliy in front of the entrance to the military committee.

AntAC treats these events as continuation of political persecution and intimidation campaign against its team members with the goal to discredit us.

Journalists from “Detector Media” (in English) and “Novoe Vremya” (in Ukrainian) provide extensive analysis with chronology of such a discrediting campaign.
