Kholodnytskiy wants to ban at the court the usage of tape recordings from his office as evidence
Nazar Kholodnytskiy filed a lawsuit to the Supreme Court, demanding to prohibit the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of Prosecutors to use tape recordings from his office as evidence against him.
It became known today during the consideration of his lawsuit at the meeting of the Administrative chamber of the Supreme Court, where Kholodnytskiy was not present.
This lawsuit may be used by Nazar Kholodnytskiy to delay the consideration of his case by the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of Prosecutors, according to the Anti-Corruption Action Centre.
“Kholodnytskiy may demand the QDCP not to consider complaints against him without a court decision regarding the possibility of using these tape recordings in his disciplinary case. Meanwhile, the court can delay the consideration of this lawsuit for a long time, says Olena Shcherban, a lawyer at the Anti-Corruption Action Centre. “Obviously, the head of the SAPO is looking for any opportunity to avoid the punishment and stay in his office,” she adds.
The next court hearing is scheduled for 20 September 2018. The meeting of the QDCP, which will consider complaints against Kholodnytskiy, will take place on 26 July 2018.
